The Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team established in 1901. The Tigers are one of the American League's eight original teams and have a storied history in the league. They are a part of the American League Central division, and their team colors are navy blue, orange, and white.

Throughout their long history, the Detroit Tigers have experienced varying degrees of success. The team has claimed four World Series championships in 1935, 1945, 1968, and 1984. They have also won 11 American League pennants and made numerous playoff appearances. The Tigers' most recent playoff run occurred in 2014, but they were unfortunately eliminated in the American League Division Series (ALDS).

The Detroit Tigers have seen many exceptional players don their uniforms over the years. Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, Al Kaline, and Charlie Gehringer are just a few of the legendary players who have called Detroit home. More recent stars include Miguel Cabrera, who won the Triple Crown in 2012, and Justin Verlander, a former Cy Young Award winner and Most Valuable Player. The current roster is filled with young talent, such as Casey Mize and Spencer Torkelson, who are poised to make an impact in the coming years.

Since 2000, the Tigers have played their home games at the beautiful Comerica Park in downtown Detroit. This modern ballpark, which replaced the historic Tiger Stadium, has a seating capacity of 41,083 and offers a unique blend of state-of-the-art amenities and classic baseball charm. Comerica Park is known for its spacious outfield, which makes it a pitcher-friendly park. It also features a stunning view of the Detroit skyline and has hosted events such as the 2005 MLB All-Star Game and the 2006 World Series.

The Detroit Tigers are the only team in the major leagues to have an actual "tiger" as part of their logo, with the recognizable Old English 'D' serving as a symbol of the team's rich history. Additionally, the Tigers have a unique tradition called the "Bless You Boys" rally cry, which originated in 1984 when manager Sparky Anderson uttered the phrase during a postgame interview. This phrase has since become synonymous with the team and is often used by fans to show their support.

As a dedicated Detroit Tigers fan, make sure you don't miss out on the excitement of a live game. Head over to Event Tickets Center to purchase tickets for upcoming Tigers games. Experience the thrill of MLB baseball and create lasting memories with friends and family at Comerica Park!
